3 healthy go to snacks


Snacking can be our biggest down fall when it comes to our health and fitness goals. It`s so easy to reach for convenient foods that aren't necessarily the best options. Don't get me wrong I'm all about balance so it's never wrong to enjoy cookies and ice cream once in a while. Today I wanted to share with you 3 of my healthy go to snacks that take only minutes or less to make! So no more excuses because these snacks are so convenient.



1. Apple and nut butter
This is and will forever be my favorite and easiest snack. You don't necessarily have to stick with apples you could have bananas, pears, etc. This snack is a great balance of carbs, protein and fat.

2. Avocado on Ezekiel toast
No cooking involved (unless you class toasting as cooking) I personally choose Ezekiel bread over regular bread as it contains more protein and fiber compared to regular bread and it's made with sprouted whole grains. Top with smashed avocado, lemon juice and chilli flakes and this is going to keep you full and satisfied for longer thanks to the protein in the bread and the healthy fats from the avocado.

3. Energy bites
Oh how I love these little babies, if you haven't checked out my recipe for these cookie dough protein balls you can read it here. Energy bites are such a delicious snack, it won't even feel like you are missing out on cookies! The best part is that the recipe is totally customizable, you can add dried fruit, nuts, nut butter, dark chocolate chips, the list is endless! Another great thing about these is that you can make these ahead and store them in your fridge, so you can literally just grab them and eat!

Hopefully you guys got some new ideas for healthy snacks to include in your day! Remember that making small changes each day does add up, don't think that you have to take drastic measures and cut out all bad foods because at the end of the day restricting yourself does not equal a balanced lifestyle, remember to enjoy the good stuff every so often!
