My Current Favourite Highlighters

If I was allowed to take only one item of make-up to a Desert Island you can bet it will be highlighter.  This is one make-up step I cannot skip!

Below I have listed swatches of my current favourite highlighters, they are a mixture of cream and powders which are all reasonably priced too. They are not listed in any order of preference, because I simply cannot choose a  favourite!

Hard Candy - 'Glow All Way Baked Bronzer' in the shade 'Tiki'. This is claimed to be a bronzer but it is definitely a highlighter.  This is the cheapest highlighter and of my favourites and it's pretty great for it's price!

It's a very pretty golden highlighter that adds such an effortless glow, I feel like this highlighter would  suit a variety of skin tones.

Next up is Revlon 'Photoready SkinLights' in the shade '100 Bare Light'. This highlighter is super versatile because it is a liquid, I love using this underneath my foundation, mixed in with my foundation as well as over the top of foundation.

This leaves you with amazingly dewy looking skin but not oily looking in the slightest. It's a beautiful flesh tone with a hint of peach so it looks very effortless and natural on the skin.

You can probably tell that this one has been a favourite for a while since I'm scraping out every last little bit! This is the Mac 'Cream Colour Base' in the shade 'Hush'.

This is a very pinky pearly cream highlighter and another one that looks pretty natural on the skin, it leaves you with a brightening and slight dewy finish but again does not look oily/shiny in the slightest. This is the most expensive highlighter out of my favourites and it is still very reasonably priced as a little of this product goes a long way.

The final highlighter is Sephora's 'Baked Luminizer' in the shade 'Star Dust'. It's called Star Dust for a reason as it is very golden and yellow toned! This is my favourite highlighter for evening events as it is highly pigmented and the gold flecks catch the light so beautifully, this shade looks so beautiful with a tan.

So there we have my current favourite highlighters. I'm seriously so addicted to highlighters I think they just completely brighten up the face and bring together any make-up look. Often I will layer a powder highlighter on top of a cream highlighter, but be careful not to over do it. Often highlighters are very pigmented so build up light layers.

What are some of your favourite highlighters? What make-up products can't you live without?
Let me know!
